Dr Dal Goodman B. Eng., MBBS, FRACGP

Dal is 50 years old, married and has four children. His first degree is in Engineering, but his varied career has included working as a charter pilot and flying instructor, computer salesman, and briefly in civil engineering.

Dal worked with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade from 1989 to 1996, including postings as a diplomat to Papua New Guinea and Malaysia. In 1996 he left DFAT for family reasons, and in 1999 fulfilled a lifelong dream by being accepted to study medicine. With the support of his wife Kath, in 2002 Dal graduated from the four-year medical course at the University of Queensland.

Dal worked for Queensland Health for four years, finishing as a Senior Medical Officer in a rural hospital north of Brisbane. He has now completed his Fellowship in General Practice and is working as a GP in two different practices on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.

Dal worked as a locum Senior Medical Officer at the Northern Peninsula Hospital, Bamaga (at the tip of Cape York in Queensland), over Christmas/New Year 2007. In April 2008 he worked as a locum Clinic Doctor for a large international medical company in Shekou, Shenzhen, China.

Dal must enjoy public humiliation, as he has appeared on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" (where he didn't become a millionaire) in 1999 and on "The Weakest Link" in 2001 (where he was voted off after having one wrong answer in six rounds).

Peter Goodman B.Ed.

Peter has also had a varied career, having worked in radio advertising, heavy industry, computer retailing and teaching. He teaches English and History at a private school in South East Queensland and has tutored in Sociology at The University of Queensland. Peter spent much of his childhood overseas, and attended schools in Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and India. He enjoys travelling and has recently spent a month teaching at a large school near Shanghai.
